Tournament volleyball nets have a plastic disc at each end to prevent the steel or Kevlar cord from inadvertently slipping back.

- "DVV 1" nets have a 6-point attachment, 3 tensioning cords on both sides and quick-release fasteners
- "DVV 2" nets have a 4-point attachment, 2 tensioning cords on both sides and quick-release fasteners
Net height: the official net height is different for men and women. The net is positioned vertically above the middle line, the upper edge at a height of 2.43 m for men and 2.24 m for women.
